I've has taken up the challenge of building a chapter for the Scandinavian alumni who are eager to join the global network of more than 1,100 dues-paying members of the Association.

For the past three years, I have been General Manager and Representative for the German property bank Aareal Bank AG in Sweden. Aareal was formed in 2003 when DePfa Bank AG was split into two, DePfa retaining the government finance activity whilst the property side was spun off into an independant bank also listed on the Frankfurter Stock Exchange. Aareal has a balance sheet total of €40 billion, but despite its relatively small size, it is one of the larger international property banks active in 15 countries. In Sweden we have built up a loan book of €2 billion over these three years.
