Carol Sotnick, HR Manager, Dies of Cancer

Carol A. Herzig Sotnick, 64, passed away April 14 in Scottsdale, AZ, from metastasized lung cancer. She retired from Chase Manhattan Bank as a human resources vice president after 26 years, during which time she served as the human resources officer for the start-up of Chase's credit card operations in Tempe, AZ. Prior to joining Chase, she was an English teacher in the Englewood, NJ junior and senior high schools.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, she was raised in North Bergen, NJ. A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, she earned a master's degree from Columbia University's Teachers College. She served as the first woman president of the Bellasera Homeowners Association in Scottsdale.

She leaves her husband, Barton, of Scottsdale; mother, Bess Herzig, and sister, Barbara Korn, of Teaneck, NJ; niece, Beth Korn, of Cummington, MA, and nephew, Marc Korn, of Alexandria, VA.
