CAA Osaka Chapter Convenes
August 1st Luncheon May Be One of Last
The CAA Osaka Chapter held its general meeting and luncheon on August l, 2009, at the Taikou-en. The meeting was attended by 15 out of the 47 registered alumni in Osaka.
Takahasi-san kindly came from Tokyo and joined the group.
After finishing the general meeting (covering routine proceedings such as: opening speech; activity report of the Osaka-no-Kai by the chairman, Toru Amemiya; report of revenue and expenditure settlement by Taira Tsuji, and report of Tokyo Chase family members by Takahashi-san), Kimiko Murase called for a toast to start the luncheon.
All attendants were happy exchanging greetings, talking happy memories in and outside of the Chase, and sharing news of present daily life.
The greatest concern was how the Osaka chapter can continue its operation with its operating members getting very old, and finding new successors for the management of the Osaka chapter not seeming possible. It was concluded that there is no other way but to close its operation at the next general meeting to be held some time next year. It was decided that the details of the closure would be discussed among the present committee members.
The party was concluded by Mr. Morita. He said that the present state of affairs in the world is as if the Pandora’s Box were open (with every kind of evil prevailing in the world), but the last thing left in the box was said a sign of serious trouble, and that is why mankind could survive without losing hope. He wished that we not lose hope, so that there will be some sort of solution to keep the bonds of friendship enjoyed in the Osaka chapter going into the future.
The following alumni attended:
Men: Toru Amemkiya, Masahiko Inoue, Kazuhiko Kiyohiro, Taira Tsuji, Seiichi Takahashi, Susumu Morita, Toshio Morimoto and Hiroshi Yoneda. Women: Kiyomi Abe, Ayako Usui, Michiko Kobayashi, Sumiko Sakamoto (accompanied by her younger sister Mimako Sakamoto), Noriko Harabe, Kimiyo Furuki (formerly Horiike), and Kimiko Murase.
