In Memoriam: Edwin J. Freeman, 82

Helped Set Up Chase Electronic Transfer System

 

 

The CAA mourns the passing of Edwin J. Freeman, 82, of Delray Beach, Fla., on September 22, 2009.

He worked at Chase, primarily in Domestic Institutions, from 1967 to 1987. Through his two decades at 1 Chase Manhattan Plaza, he worked as a vice president in Electronic Funds Transfer and was one of the people instrumental in setting up the electronic funds transfer system for the bank.

Survivors include his widow, Charlotte, three daughters, a son and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth St, Santa Monica, CA 90401, where there is a memorial fund in his name.
