Frank J. Yautz

Frank J. Yautz died on September 8, 2004, after waging a valiant battle against lung cancer.

Frank was recruited to join Chase Manhattan Bank in 1958 at a career day at Bayonne High School in Bayonne, NJ. He participated in the prestigious Management Training Program, and gradually rose to Branch Executive during his 15 years with Chase.
Frank's 46 years as a banker included tenures with Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale, Girozentrale Vienna and the International Center for Management Education. Most recently, he was First Vice President and Head of Operations for RZB Finance, LLC. He was appointed to the United States Council on International Banking and the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, and his numerous affiliations included the University of Oxford Delegacy of Local Examinations and the Viennese Opera Ball Committee. Throughout his career, Frank never lost his sense of appreciation for the incredible opportunity offered to a high school senior on that fateful day, and he devoted his life to opening doors for others, in the way that Chase had for him so many years ago.

Frank was known for a distinctive optimism, strength and humor, which remained intact even during his illness. He truly was an example of quiet grace and courage in the face of immense adversity. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Frank is survived by his wife, Helga, and children Stephen and Deborah. He was the proud grandfather of Matthew Joseph, who shows every indication of being as spirited as his grandpa.

Condolences may be sent to his wife, Helga, at 61 Zabriskie Avenue, Bayonne, NJ 07002. Those wishing to make a contribution in Frank's memory may do so by sending a check to: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10021.
