In Memoriam: Miguel Martinez, 50

Former VP Security & Communications, JPMC

Miguel Caridad Martinez, a former Vice President of Security and Communications at JPMorgan Chase, died in his home in Brick, NJ, on December 21, 2023. He was 50 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Martinez primarily grew up there and in the Bronx. A true Nuyorican, he was very proud of his Puerto Rican heritage and briefly spent time living on the island as a child in Levitown and Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. He eventually went to Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx. He graduated top of his high school class with honors and went on to spend some time in the U.S. Army.

He did front desk security at Bad Boy and finished his career at JP Morgan Chase, where he started a 30-career as front desk security and worked his way up with just his smarts and charming personality. In 2021, he fulfilled his dream of retiring early.

Among his survivors are his wife (Jocelyn), two daughters, two grandchildren, his mother and his sister. Martinez leaves behind his daughters Kayla and Krista, his wife Jocelyn, his granddaughter Alexandria, his grandson Mason, his mother Madeline, and his sister and best friend, Iveliz.
