From Peter and Sigrid Gross: It was so sad and unexpected to receive the news that Rolf had passed on to be with the Lord. We just had one of our regular telephone chats when the news reached us. It’s difficult to express in a few words what a friendship with Rolf and his late wife, Lissy, has meant to us. Memories of over 50 years of professional life and travel that have taken us to many locations, even though we have never been in the same place together at the same time. During our Chase days, Rolf was in Stuttgart, Duesseldorf and Frankfurt, while we left Frankfurt to go to Hamburg and than escape to New York. Of course there were visits at our house in Westfield, NJ. Much later Rolf and Lissy caught up with us in Singapore after skipping our years in South Africa. When we returned to Frankfurt, Rolf had left Chase to take over the management of ABN’s operations in Duesseldorf. It was not a  coincidence that in 1990 I had left Chase for a new life with ABN AMRO. I will be forever grateful to Rolf for my career with ABN AMRO starting in Japan, again back in Singapore, and finally Antwerp, Belgium. It has now been almost 20 years since retirement. Living in Pinehurst, NC, we had many trips to visit Rolf and Lissy in their beloved place in Fountain Head, Scottsdale, AZ. Joined holidays in Palm Springs, CA, for many years until Rolf and Lissy’s return to Bad Soden and finally Frankfurt. RIP, our friend.

From Charles Schroeder: Rolf's passing was indeed very unexpected, sorrowful and shocking, in particular from my perspective, since, at 85 (born on March 29, 1939) he was almost eight years younger than I and always ready to have some fun being active, such as playing golf. We had been very good friends since we met both working at Chase New York. This continued after I left Chase and he became the Manager of Chase in Düsseldorf, Germany, and we stayed in touch. In 1999 my wife, Christa (she passed on two weeks before Rolf) and I moved to Scottsdale, AZ. From then on, we enjoyed Rolf's and his late wife Lissy's visit every year, and we had a good time together meeting in either our home or their leased house in the neighboring Town of Fountain Hills, AZ, as well as having lunch in various country clubs and good restaurants. This lasted for 18 years until the end of 2017 when Rolf and Lissy returned to Bad Soden, Germany. After that we had been regularly staying in touch through communications.
