40 Years at Chase, a President of Chase Manhattan Club

Alois R. "Al" Krtil, age 86, of Ship Bottom, NJ, died on January 9, 2025 at Seacrest Village in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. He worked for Chase Manhattan Bank for 40 years before retiring in the mid-1990s,

Krtil was born in Manhattan and was raised and lived in his beloved Bronx for 60 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in Korea before joining Chase, where he worked in the Trust and other departments. He was president of the Chase Manhattan Club from 1972 to 1973.*

After moving to Ship Bottom in 1998, Krtil built a second career as Distribution Manager for a local newspaper, The SandPaper of Long Beach Island.

He was an active parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, where he volunteered as an usher at Sunday masses and as a coordinator for the annual Festival of the Sea. Inheriting a love of traditional music of the American West from his father, Krtil was a founding member of the International Western Music Association and volunteer DJ at various non-profit radio stations for over 50 years, playing and promoting this repertoire.

He also wrote numerous articles for various professional wrestling magazines about the history and "Golden Age" of professional wrestling.

Among his survivors are his wife of 60 years, Frances, a daughter and a grandson.
