In Memoriam: Joseph Casale, 94

Chemical Bank Stalwart in NYC

 
Joseph (Joe) Casale, who worked his way up through the ranks of Chemical Bank over a 38-year career there, died on January 23, 2025. He was 94 and resided in Monroe Township, NJ, having moved there in 2012 after living in Middle Village, NY, for over 50 years.
 
Born in Nyack, NY, Casale started his career with Chemical Corn Exchange. (Corn Exchange merged with Chemical Bank in 1954.) He graduated from The American Institute of Banking.
 
Casale retired from Chemical in 2007 as Assistant District Deputy Manager in Queens, NY. He then went on to work for Merchant Bank of New York for a decade.
 
He enjoyed playing golf, traveling and being a member of his community’s Senior Social and Italian American Clubs. He wrote for a local news paper, sharing stories about Italian culture.  
 
He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Anna Marie, and a daughter. He is survived by his son and two granddaughters.
