Life After Chase: Michael Prasad
New Free E-Book on Leadership in Emergency ManagementChase Alumnus Michael Prasad, a Certified Emergency Manager™ and leader in the field of Emergency Management, has published a free online e-book, Leadership Lessons Learned and Applied: In Emergency Management and Beyond. It bridges the gap between theoretical leadership principles and real-world applications in the high-stakes, high-pressure arena of Emergency Management.
Prasad is a former vice president of Chase (1987-2001), and several chapters of the book cover his time at the bank.
In Leadership Lessons Learned and Applied: In Emergency Management and Beyond, Prasad shares his wealth of experience across multiple careers and insights gained over years of leading teams through some of the most complex and challenging events and incidents in the United States. The book delves into critical leadership qualities such as decision-making under pressure, effective team communication, adaptability, and fostering resilience in dynamic situations.
“Leadership is tested not in moments of calm, but in the storms of uncertainty," Prasad said. "My goal with this book is to share the lessons I’ve learned in the trenches of Emergency Management so that leaders, both current and aspiring, can face challenges with a sense of purpose and preparedness.”
The book is intended for Emergency Management professionals, public safety officials, corporate leaders and decision-makers, students and educators in leadership and crisis management, and anyone interested in the practical applications of leadership during crises.
Leadership Lessons Learned and Applied: In Emergency Management and Beyond is available online now for free through Pressbooks and will also be available from publisher York Drive in paperback, and Kindle formats on Amazon. As the bulk of the book is written about Prasad’s volunteer work with the American Red Cross, he is taking no royalties from any versions of the book.
