Edwin Butcher

The CAA mourns the loss of CAA member Ed Butcher, who headed the Expatriate Tax section of the Controller's area of the bank from 1984 to 1990.  His 2006 death, from a heart attack, was reported to us by CAA member Elaine Garafola, who worked for Ed at the bank.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia, of New Hyde Park, NY.

Ed's department did the taxes for U.S. nationals, like Bob Hunter and Jim Zeigon, when they worked in foreign countries and also for foreign nationals when they worked in the United States.

At the time of his death, Ed was a senior vice president in human resources for Citigroup.  He was also a pilot, who enjoyed fly fishing and golf.

Anyone wishing to send further recollections of Ed should contact news@chasealum.org.
