In Memoriam: Laiyee Ng

Vice President, Global Investor Services

Laiyee Ng, a Vice President in the Global Investor Services division of The Chase Manhattan Bank and a resident of Forest Hills, NY, passed away in late August 2009 after a long illness.  She was in her late 40s.

Laiyee joined The Chase Manhattan Bank in the late 1980s and worked in training for Chase InfoServ International. In 1992, she joined the Global Investor Services' (GIS) Sales Support/RFP Team, where she worked on business development proposals for the corporate pension and mutual fund groups. Laiyee later worked in the GIS marketing communications department, and helped develop their intranet and internal employee communications programs.

Laiyee left Chase in 2002, transitioning to the non-profit world.  Most recently, she was the Assistant Director of Marketing Communications for the Queens Borough Public Library.

A Memorial Fund in Laiyee's honor has been set up at the Queens Borough Public Library in support of their "Buy a Book" program.  "Buy a Book" was the last project Laiyee managed for the library; she helped develop the promotional materials for this fund-raising campaign for the branch libraries. Those wishing to make donations in Laiyee’s memory can do so online at www.queenslibraryfoundation.org  or by mailing a check to the Queens Library Foundation, 89-11 Merrick Boulevard, Jamaica, NY 11432.  Attention: Ms. RayLynn Nill.
