In Memoriam: Edward J. Destefanis

We learned in fall 2009 that Edward J. Destefanis died in San Francisco on April 15, 2008 of congestive heart failure.  Born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1942, Edward graduated from City College of New York and had a distinguished banking career at Chase Manhattan Bank, where he was a vice president  in Work Outs at 1 CMP, repossing and selling Chase collateral.

Edward was a historian, a mathematician, an accomplished chess and bridge player, and a wonderful raconteur. He traveled the world with his work and particularly enjoyed Spain. He moved to San Francisco in 2005.  

He was survived by his son, E.J. Destefanis, of Norwalk, CT.
