In Memoriam: Richard Tramontana, 72

Chase Vet and Wine Connoisseur

Richard (Dick) Tramontana died in New York City on June 5, 2013, one day short of his 73rd birthday, following a series of strokes.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian, also a Chase Alumni Association member.

A native of Buffalo, NY, he was an accounting major at SUNY Buffalo. Dick worked for Chase Home Mortgage, where he developed the software for Grade B mortgages, and in the Private Bank. He also consulted for the "ATMs at Sea" project.

He and Vivian formed L.A.D.V.A CORPORATION d/b/a TASTERSGUILDNY, a wine club, in 1986 with 2 partners.  They  bought out one partner in 2003 and became sole owners in 2009.

Vivian writes: "We enjoyed traveling and eating and drinking. Dick preferred good Irish whiskey but finally gave it up. He was the accountant  for 108 West 78th Street and LADV and issued the tax forms for ourselves, friends, family, etc. Dick was a warm, happy, fun guy to be with. He had an infectious laugh. He would go out of his way to help anyone when needed. He could be counted on to be there for you."

Memorial contributions should be made to the Central Park Conservancy.
