In Memoriam: Philippe Aubin, 83

Former Head of Chase's Trust Activities in Switzerland

Philippe Aubin, associated with Chase Manhattan from 1966 to 1974, died July 27, 2014 in Geneva, where he had lived since 1969. He had suffered for many years from ideopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

A Parisian by birth, Aubin held a French baccalaureat from the Académie de Paris and a law degree from the Paris Law School. He earned diplomas in economics from the Paris Political Science Institute and the School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins. He was also a graduate of the Paris Banking Institute.

After stints at Morgan Guaranty Trust and Morgan & Cie., he underwent the training program at Chase Manhattan in New York. At the time he left Chase, in October 1974, he was a corporate vice president in charge of Trust activities in Switzerland.

Aubin then became the foundiing CEO of Morgan Grenfell (Switzerland) and its successor, Banque Morgan Grenfell Suisse S.A. He was CEO of Banque de Dépôts, Geneva, from 1991 until his retirement in June 1997.

He had a private pilot's license.

He is survived by his wife, Anne, two children and grandchildren.
