Chase Alumni: NYC reception, Wine, Travel and...Elvis!

Dear Reader,

Online registration is now open for the members-only NYC spring reception, to be held at the 3 West Club (3 W 51st St.) on Thursday, April 22, 2010.  The price is $23 online ($35.75 at the door). Space may be limited, so we encourage you to register early.

So far 10 people have registered for a special lunch and wine tasting at CAA member Frank Reider's restaurant in Delray Beach, Fla., on Friday, March 26, 2010, to celebrate his newly published book on South American wines. Click below for details. CAA President John Ward will attend and give an Association update.  Non members are welcome.

###

Due to a cancellation, we have room for another couple as well as another single (or three singles) for the CAA Netherlands reunion, as of the evening of February 21st.

Whoever said bankers are boring should meet Surinder Singh.  Click below for his "Life After Chase" profile, describing his new blog and avocation as an Elvis impersonator.  (The exclamation points are implicit.)

We only just learned of the September 2009 death of CAA member Ed Freeman.  Click below for more information.  We welcome tributes and remembrances, which should be sent to news@chasealum.org.

CAA Board Member  (and vice chairman, Americas, of Standard Chartered Bank) Tony Walton is scheduled as the guest speaker for the San Francisco Bay Area's reception on June 7, 2010.

Two Chase training classes are thinking of planning reunions, and their coordinators want to hear from possible attendees:

  • Members of the 13th Special Training program, who graduated in spring 1959, should contact Bob Weeks (RDWeeksJr@aol.com)

Please send ideas and items for future editions of "Life After Chase" to news@chasealum.org.  We will develop some into full-blown articles, while short items will be added to the "Life After Chase" blog as they come in. Remember that the blog items can be viewed by anyone; they are not restricted to CAA members.  If you have a new e-mail address or phone number or such, that information should be entered within your directory listing, which can only be seen by your fellow alumni.
