Chase Alumni: URGENT! Registrations, Friends, Save the Date

Dear Reader,

Dear Reader,

You have until Tuesday, July 13 at noon to register for our first-ever CAA summer event in New York: the CAA wine tasting dinner on Thursday, July 22, 2010We currently have 22 people registered, and the dinner may not happen with fewer than 30!  (Where are the many of you who answered our survey and said you would attend?)

We've chosen a terrific restaurant close to Grand Central for the venue: Acclaimed chef Richard Sandoval's Zengo, at 40th and Third, featuring Latin-Asian fusion cuisine. The evening's four South American wines, of course, are being chosen by CAA member Frank Reider, who will discuss them at the dinner.

The all-inclusive price for wines, appetizer, salad and entree, with tax and gratuity included, is only $80.  (The entree will be steak; if you would prefer fish, please indicate this when you register, on the credit card information page under "special instructions".)

REMEMBER: You must register and pre-pay for the dinner no later than July 13th. (Click below for the link to registration.) You must be a CAA member to participate.  Each member is allowed to bring one guest.

You can also reserve and pre-pay for a copy of Frank's book, Wines of Passion: the Best of South America -- A Connoisseur's Guide to the Wines of Argentina and Chile. Normally selling for $29.95, dinner guests may pre-purchase it for $24.  Please note that this is only an offer for people who will attend the July 22nd dinner and pick up the book there, where Frank will be happy to sign it for you.  Anyone wishing to have the book shipped should visit Frank's Web site: www.golthetasteofbrazil.

Sonia Dias writes that her former Chase colleague and dear friend Kate Keator suffered  a traumatic brain injury in 1997 and since then has lost touch with most if not all of her former Chase friends. She is hoping to reconnect via the alumni organization. Please click on the Life After Chase below.  Anyone wishing to contact Kate should do so via the CAA.

Another couple has registered for the CAA Netherlands trip, so we now have room for just a single traveler.  If you are interested, contact Ken Jablon. With the euro/dollar exchange what it is, it's a bargain for a U.S. traveler.  Come catch the Dutch post-World Cup fever!

Houston-area Chase Alumni should save the date for the next CAA reception: Thursday, September 23, 2010.  More details to come.
