Chase Alumni: URGENT! Vino in NYC, Tortillas in Houston

Dear Reader,

Dear Reader,

Four reds. Three whites. One dessert wine. Fabulous three-course dinner at Zengo to beat the heat.  But how many alumni and friends will attend the CAA's first-ever NYC summer event, a wine tasting dinner this Thursday, July 22nd? (Click here for the menu.)

We have reserved space for 30 people and still have some last-minute openings.

If we were suddenly to get 20 reservations this week, we could get the semi-private space for 50.

Here are the rules and particulars:

#1  You have to reserve and pay in advance. (We've re-opened registration. Click below.)

#2  You must be a CAA member to participate.  Each member is allowed to bring one guest.

#3  The all-inclusive price for eight wines, appetizer, salad and entree, with tax and gratuity included, is only $80.  (The entree will be steak; if you would prefer fish, please indicate this when you register, on the credit card information page under "special instructions".)

We've chosen a terrific restaurant close to Grand Central for the venue: Acclaimed chef Richard Sandoval's Zengo, at 40th and Third, featuring Latin-Asian fusion cuisine. The evening's eight wines from Argentina and Chile, of course, are being chosen by CAA member and oenophile Frank Reider, who will discuss them at the dinner. You can also reserve and pre-pay for a copy of Frank's book, Wines of Passion: the Best of South America -- A Connoisseur's Guide to the Wines of Argentina and Chile. Normally selling for $29.95, dinner guests may pre-purchase it for $24.  Please note that this is only an offer for people who will attend the July 22nd dinner and pick up the book there, where Frank will be happy to sign it for you.  Anyone wishing to have the book shipped should visit Frank's Web site: www.golthetasteofbrazil.

Online registration is now open for CAA members for the CAA Houston reception on Thursday, September 23, 2010.  Enjoy a 50% admission discount plus a free drink by registering online -- but you must be a CAA member to pre-register.  Alumni and current employees of Chase or any Chase heritage bank (e.g. Texas Commerce, Bank One) are urged to participate.  Click below for more information and to register.

Another couple has registered for the CAA Netherlands trip, so we now have room for just a single traveler.  If you are interested, contact Ken Jablon. With the euro/dollar exchange what it is, it's a bargain for a U.S. traveler.
