New from the Chase Archives...and Travel Opportunities with CAA
Dear Reader,
To ease you into the new season, please visit the Chase Alumni Association (CAA) web site to read fun facts about Chase and a history of the Chase logo, courtesy of JPMorgan Chase Archives Department. (See below for links.)
FALL 2007 HUNGARY TOUR
We at the CAA want to thank all of those who participated in the recent survey regarding the proposed tour of Hungary in the fall of 2007. As you may recall, the purpose of the survey was to assess interest in the tour and to use your ideas to help shape the program.
We now want to provide you with the results of that survey and share some exciting news about another possible 2007 event.
We had close to 90 responses and more than 50 of you said that you are either “Most Definitely” or “Probably” interested in a tour of Hungary. Including spouses/guests, this represents a group in excess of 90 participants. In response to such an enthusiastic response, the CAA Board has given a ‘Go Ahead’ for this event. Here is what we have in mind.
The tour will be an extraordinary opportunity to reunite with Chase friends and colleagues in the very heart of Central Europe. Prepare to be captivated by the cultural emporium that is Budapest. Explore ancient castles --- home to legends and myths. Savor the local wines and dine on Hungarian cuisine while floating down the renowned Danube River. Let the countryside unfurl its unspoiled beauty before your eyes. ‘Soak in’ the mineral-rich thermal baths…literally! All this…and so much more await the CAA members who embark on this very special journey.
The survey responders indicated a preference for October 2007 and a tour spanning between 3 and 5 days. The preferred activities were Historical Sites, Visits to Castles, Food & Wine Experiences and Musical Events.
Interest in the tour was global in scope: close to 30% who expressed an interest in attending live outside of the United States. You can view a summary of the responses here.
A Working Committee of CAA members in both the United States and Europe is busy tailoring a program designed to these preferences and to obtain favorable/group hotel rates. We expect to be able to communicate the detailed program next month. Participants will be responsible for arranging their own travel to/from Budapest. We are still finalizing dates but are looking closely at some 3-4 day period beginning no earlier than October 5, 2007 and ending no later than the 16th.
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL
We have another exciting trip for you to think about. If you know anything of the beautiful Northwest United States, you may have heard of a jewel of a town known as Bend, Oregon. No less than three of our members have been seduced by its natural splendor and now live all, or part, of the year there. They have proposed a CAA gathering over a long weekend in the summer of 2007. Just as with the Hungarian Experience, the CAA will conduct a survey to assess your level of interest and to shape a program highlighted by outdoor activities. You should expect to receive this survey in the next few weeks.
We hope that many of you will participate in one, or both, of these 2007 gatherings -- renewing old Chase friendships…and making new ones.
All the best,
Your CAA Board
