CAA Rendezvous in Budapest? Please Participate in Survey
Dear Reader,
The Chase Alumni Association is considering organizing a tour of Hungary for fall 2007, if there is sufficient interest from its members. The tour would explore Hungary's castles, music, food, wine, and history. Activities will be geared towards couples as well as members who wish to participate alone or with friends.
The tour duration could be as short as three full days or as long as seven (not including travel to and from Budapest). Just for context, a 3-day program could be along the following lines:
Day 1: Visit Budapest's Museum of Fine Arts and the Castle District. Opera or concert in the evening.
Day 2: Travel by privately hired 'Nostalgia Train' to the eastern part of Hungary (240 km from Budapest) to visit the Tokay wine region -- possibly the world's oldest vineyards. After wine tasting and a visit to a famous castle and other places of historic interest, return to Budapest by train. End the day with a typical Hungarian dinner with local wines at an historic site.
Day 3: Travel by bus to Gödöllő (35 km east of Budapest) to visit other points of interest and attend a show of horse-riding and carriage driving by Hungarian world champions. A relaxing afternoon in a renowned spa. Day 3 could culminate with either a Gala Ball, an evening cruise on the Danube, or a farewell dinner at a special venue.
CAA member Albert Royaards is organizing the tour in Hungary. Albert has lived there for over 10 years and knows the country in depth. He has offered his services on a voluntary basis. As his involvement of time and energy will be considerable, we asked what the CAA could do to show our appreciation. The only thing he requested was that we spread the news of the good work of a charity of which he is the President of the Board of Trustees – The Smiling Hospital Foundation.
In order to assess the interest for this tour and help us shape the program, we would appreciate it if you could participate in a 9-question survey that should take about five minutes to complete.
At the end of the survey, you will be given the option of giving your name but you may answer anonymously if you so wish. Also, we welcome your comments, which you may leave at the end of the survey.
Just double-click here and your browser should automatically open the survey. If that fails, copy this link and paste it in your browser's address field: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=250192358877
Even if you are not interested in visiting Hungary, we would appreciate your answering question 9 of the survey, which asks for your input on which countries, cruises, tours, or events the CAA should consider for its future planning.
We plan to make a decision about the Hungary tour by this September and will post the results on the CAA web site. Assuming we do proceed, we will get back to you with a detailed program including costs and registration procedures.
Thank you for your support and input.
Your CAA Board
