Chase Alumni: Three Weeks Left to Register + Jim Bish + Henk Velders

Dear Reader,

You have until noon on Friday, October 26 to join the more than 85 people who have already registered for the CAA New York reception.  The Tuesday, October 30th event at 1 CMP comes with a twist. Click below to learn the details of our "Bring a Friend" promotion: Basically, if you bring in a new dues-paying member of the CAA, both you and the new member will be admitted to the reception free. Either way, you must register in advance to attend. Due to security requirements, no walk-ins will be admitted.

The CAA mourns the passing of its member Jim Bish.  Click below for the "In Memoriam".  Anyone wishing to share a remembrance should send it to news@chasealum.org.

Click below for links to a lengthy article in The New York Times Magazine about the downfall of Ina Drew in the wake of the trading debacle at JPMorgan Chase, as well as to a commentary on Seeking Alpha.  We welcome comments on the articles, at news@chasealum.org.

We heard this week from the nephew of Henk Velders, who, while serving as Chase's Beirut branch manager, was killed in June 1982 by a bomb that struck his apartment there. The nephew asked that we post an "In Memoriam" for Velders, and we ask anyone who remembers him to send us information so that the story is a full one.  Please write to news@chasealum.org.

CAA San Francisco/Bay Area will have its regularly-scheduled get-together beginning on Thursday, October 18, at 5 pm, at Il Fornaio (1265  Battery Street, diagonally across from the Fog City Dinner).

We continue to need your help to find news and story leads for Life After Chase. Are you working with an interesting not-for-profit, either on staff or as a volunteer?  Have you "reinvented" yourself since Chase?  Do you have a hobby that has taken over your life and energy?  If you think you have a story, please contact news@chasealum.org. Please note, though, that we only run stories about paid-up CAA members.
