Chase Alumni: Living with Cancer + Dimon on Sked for NYC CAA Event + Naseer Doha + Dow Predictions

Dear Reader,

Please click below for these stories:

Alumna Laura Effel has shared her story of treatment for and living with multiple myeloma. If you have a story of survivorship – from cancer or another illness – that provides lessons to other alumni, please consider sharing it, either through a comment on Laura's story or by submitting your own article. Send your remarks to news@chasealum.org...and be well!

SAVE THE DATE! The NYC CAA reception will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 on the 50th floor of JPMorgan Chase at 270 Park Avenue.  Jamie Dimon has it in his calendar (fingers crossed he'll come by), so we hope you'll put it in your calendar. Registration will open the first week of October.

We mourn the deaths of Naseer Doha, 62, and Bill Mulligan, 71. Bill's longtime colleague Clare Bruder Mullarney will host a memorial gathering on October 7, 2015. Please read the "In Memoriam" for details. We've also received remembrances of Bill. Please send yours to news@chasealum.org.

Our year-end Dow prediction contest is closed...so now we will wait and see, with the winner announced on January 1, 2016! Fifty-nine members entered. The low remained at 15,000, the high (please! let it be so!) was 18,399 and the median was 17,228.42.

  • Five optimists think the Dow will end at 18,000 or above;
  • Thirty see it ranging from 17,079 to 17,999;
  • Fifteen predict it will end between 16,022 and 16,951.01, and
  • Nine people who are either pessimists or are realists predict a year-end Dow between 15,000 and 15,957.
Good luck to you all -- and to your portfolios!
