Chase Alumni: November's NYC Event, Budapest Smiling + Tampa Changes

We hope our French alumni and their family and friends are safe after Friday's horrific events. Know you are in our thoughts.

Dear Reader,

Please click below for these stories:

Because of size limitations on the 50th floor of 270 Park Avenue, we can register only 325 alumni (there are now about 250 registered) for the NYC CAA members-only reception to be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at JPMorgan Chase. Jamie Dimon is scheduled to attend, and JPMorgan Chase is hosting.

Even though the event is free, you must pre-register. Special note to new members: When you become a member, you still have to register separately for the event.

Please note that this is the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend, and because of the holiday you must register by 5 pm on Tuesday, November 24. Frankly, we think we'll have reached our limit way before then. To guarantee your place, register now! If you pre-paid before we learned it was JPMC's treat, you will receive a refund (no need to re-register).

CAA Members Invited: The Smiling Hospital Foundation, founded and run by CAA member Albert Royards, will hold a major fund-raiser at the InterContinental Hotel in Budapest on Saturday, February 13, 2016. The Grand Gala Dinner and Dance has The Sound of Music as its theme, and Albert has hired some of the best professional singers in Hungary to perform musical interludes during the gala dinner.

The cost of the gala dinner (dinner, music, dance – detailed program available at the end of November) is 100 euros per person (180 euros per couple). Depending on interest, Albert will gladly organize other activities in Budapest for CAA members and help with securing best hotel rates – in other words, tailor-made programs. If you are interested, please contact Albert ASAP. Many alumni may remember the fabulous reunion he organized for CAA in 2007.

Smiling Hospital Foundation’s musicians and artists entertain hospitalized persons to lift spirits and help speed up the recovery process.  With a focus on children, Smiling Hospital also seeks to spread cheer among the elderly and other institutionalized persons. The Foundation serves patients in Hungary and six other countries around the world.

Tampa:  The December 10th holiday party at the Centre Club has been postponed until Thursday, February 11, 2016. Just think of it as a different holiday! Online registration will open on December 6th. Also mark your calendars for a Day at the Races on Sunday, Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Tampa Bay Downs.

Recently we wrote about Joe Settineri's life as writer/singer Danny Satin. He just posted a holiday video with one of his songs on youtube, as a gift to us all. Watch those Santas move!

We're planning a re-design of our website. If you have any thoughts on features you would like added or things you don't like about the current one and its organization, please let us know soonest by writing to news@chasealum.org.

It's time to think about organizing another international gathering of Chase Alumni, but we need to find someone who can play the role of local host and organizer, the way Hans van den Houten did in the Netherlands and Oregon, Albert Royaards did in Budapest and Wolfgang Fenkart-Froeschl did in Vienna. If you are interested in helping to create a memorable long weekend for your fellow alumni in a wonderful location in Europe or the United States, please click below for more details and/or contact Ken Jablon

Looking for Lives After Chase!! Are you working with an interesting not-for-profit, either on staff or as a volunteer? Have you "reinvented" yourself since Chase? Do you have a hobby that has taken over your life and energy? If you think you have a story, please contact news@chasealum.org. Please note, though, that we only run stories about paid-up CAA members.
