Chase Alumni: Leon Desbrow + Registration Absolutely Required for NY Event

Dear Reader,

You Must Pre-Register for CAA NYC Fall 2016 Reception by November 22nd at Noon (click here)

NOTE: If you recently joined or renewed your membership, you still need to register separately for the event itself.

Also: Check the "Look Who's Coming" list to make sure your name is on it if you registered. If you want your name tag to appear differently (i.e., "Bob" instead of "Robert"), please let us know by November 22nd at 5 pm by writing to news@chasealum.org.

Join the more than 250 alumni who have already registered for the free, members-only November 28, 2016 reception at 270 Park Avenue. Jamie Dimon is expected to attend. Advance registration is absolutely required by 5 pm on Tuesday, November 22nd. We recommend that you don't wait until the last minute to register, as space is limited.

Update your profile!

After months of growing pains with our new website format, the membership profile is working again.  While everyone should look to see if his or her profile is up-to-date, it is especially important for any members who joined after March of this year: Your profile will definitely not be correct. The new profile has some added components; for example, you can put in all your work experience, not just where you work now.

To update your profile, login at www.chasealum.org, click on "Welcome, [Your Name]!” and then “Update Profile.” When you have made all of the changes and additions, click on "Update profile” at the bottom of the page. To add a photo, just click on a photo on your computer and drag it to the photo space on your profile page. (The photo function had a glitch earlier this past week but is now working.)

The new Membership Directory that will match the new profile has not been completed. In the mean time, if you are looking for contact information for particular individuals, contact Ken Jablon, as he has access to the entire CAA database.

CAA Privacy Policy

Last week many of you may have received a business solicitation from one of our alumni, using a list created from our membership directory. Please note that such use of the directory is not permitted. Our privacy policy–a link to which is on the bottom of our home page–states, "The Online Directory is provided with the express understanding that the information will not be used for any commercial or philanthropic purpose not directly connected with or approved by the CAA. Copies are prohibited from being made, nor will the original information or facsimile be given, lent, or sold to any other individual or organization...When using this service you agree that you will not use the information in the Online Directory for business solicitation purposes. The CAA will respond to any complaints by taking appropriate action." Please adhere to this policy.

How High or Low the Dow? Contest Closed

Our second annual contest for dues-paying members to guess this year's ending Dow closed on September 23rd. Now we have to wait until December 30, 2016 to learn who is the winner. We had 75 entries -- a high forecast of 20,842.60 (would that it will be!) and a low of 13,333,66 (the guesstimator originally predicted 2356.70 and wrote us, "This is the new America. Anything that is impossible is possible.") The median guess was 18,343 -- close to last Friday's close of 18,261.45.
