Dear [first_name]:

#  Indicates new articles or articles that have added content
#  Remember: Past CAA newsletters are archived on the CAA website under News.

#  Do you have a memorable story about Christmas or New Year's working at the bank? It could involve a work deadline, a party (make sure its printable!), celebrating during an overseas assignment or a rush to get home from overseas. If so, please send it ASAP to news@chasealum.org. (Photos welcome.)
#  CLICK HERE FOR SOME STORIES from Manuel Peña-Morros and Christine (Martone) Randazzo.

HEADS UP: As is our custom, we will publish a list of all In Memoriams we have run during the 2025 calendar year on the last Sunday of December. Please: If you know of someone who has died and not been given an In Memoriam, let us know by Christmas, so we have time to gather the information we need to write a tribute to the deceased. Thank you.

Attenzione!
CAA's next group trip will be to Sicily, from September 30 to October 9, 2026. Wolfgang Friedl, who led our memorable trips to Puglia and the South of France, is once again the tour organizer.
Registration opens at 9 am (Eastern) on Monday, December 22, 2025. Talk about a last-minute holiday gift for yourself! You must be a dues-paying member of CAA to participate and may bring a plus-one. Please be sure to log in to the website before trying to register so that the store platform recognizes you as a dues-paying member.
The trip, which will take us from Palermo to Catania, will feature a memorable mix of art, great architecture, history, culture, natural wonders, private visits to palazzos, great food and wine, 4- and 5-star hotels and, of course, the comraderie of Chase alumni. By going in October, we'll avoid the crowds and heat: It's truly an ideal time of year to visit Sicily!

NYC EVENTS

We are still waiting for JPMC to assign a date when they will host us for a reception at the new headquarters at 270 Park Avenue (plus – fingers crossed – a tour of the building), hopefully in May 2026. Because we expect alumni worldwide will want to attend this reception, we are planning to program two or three days of activities in conjunction with the reception.
Credit classes, geography-specific groups (e.g. LATAM) or business area groups
(e.g., Treasury) that want to hold lunches or dinners around the reception date can work with us. (Thanks to Joe Murphy, who has offered to organize a luncheon for Credit Classes of the 1970s, and Manuel Peña-Morros who will organize a dinner for
LATAM alumni.) Our reservation/payment platform can support your event. While we
await the actual date of the reception, we suggest that you begin gathering names and contact information for your potential attendees.

JPMC NEWS

JPMorgan to build multi-billion pound tower in London's Canary Wharf: Reuters' Iain Withers writes that the decision to build one of Europe's largest towers there is a big win for the Canary Wharf district. Foster + Partners will design the new building, which will be larger than the new JPMC headquarters it designed in NYC. Withers writes that it will be more than double the floorspace of Britain's current tallest building, The Shard, in London. JPMC's own announcement on November 27, 2025 does not indicate the number of floors or height of the proposed tower, as "the plans are subject to a continuing positive business environment in the UK and the receipt of the necessary approvals and agreements at a national and local level." Women make up half of JPMorganChase’s board, and hold seven of its 13 seats on its operating committee.
In October, JPMC Chair and CEO Jamie Dimon spoke at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women SummitFortune's executive editorial director, Diane Brady, had these three takeaways on how Dimon mentors women:
► Bet on Winners: "Dimon helps people who've earned his respect and trust...says he's guided by performance, not gender or loyalty. To do otherwise...is a disservice to the team."
► Share Your Network: A mentee observed that after Dimon had been fired from Citi and she had just arrived there, he still helped her. "Every time Jamie would call, he would give me the names of three people to talk to inside the company, and he would also ask me what I'd learned so far."
Go Beyond Borders: "Anyone who launches a $1.5 trillion initiative is seeking a purpose beyond their own company," Brady wrote. "...Dimon expects ambitious people may leave. Part of his job is to help good people become better leaders wherever they go. The world needs more of them."

JPMC Chair and CEO Jamie Dimon also sat down with the editor-in-chief of Fortune, Alyson Shontell. During a 45-minute conversation, they touched on such issues as: the price of gold and bitcoin; new technologies, like AI; the AI bubble and circular AI investing; whether the U.S. has overplayed its hand on China; the Trump Administration; NYC and mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani; Europe; and management and leadership.

Michael J. Lewis, The Wall Street Journal: JPMorgan Chase’s Soaring Skyscraper With Human Spirit
Designed by Foster + Partners, the bank’s $3 billion new building at 270 Park Ave. is a thrilling addition to the New York skyline, sensitive to people’s needs and the neighborhood despite its massive scale.

LIFE AFTER CHASE

#  Martin Fraenkel may still be working in the financial field, but he is very active in the not-for-profit sphere, especially in his role as Chair of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. And he even got to play violin in a rehearsal with them!

After surviving an arduous medical journey, Dave Farrell has extra reasons to be thankful this Thanksgiving.
His interview also includes various lessons he learned over the last 18 months (and eight surgeries).
If there's something you're particularly thankful for this Thanksgiving, please let us know.

Read (Rev.) Don Kunze's article about his unexpected spiritual journey that has him lecturing groups about Archangels, UFOs, extraterrestrials and Theosophists as a non-denominational minister focusing on mysticism.

Ronald Munro Watt, former founding Country Manager for Chase in Pakistan, has written a sprawling historical novel, Gonzalo Pérez and King Philip of England and Spain. Immerse yourself in the 16th century and read an absorbing Q&A with the author.

CAA TECH CORNER WITH DAN ALVAREZ
In his 11th feature dedicated to defining emerging trends in technology (in plain English), CAA board member Dan Alvarez explains how AI agents are used, what jobs they might threaten and what positions may be in even greater demand. The article is long (but easy to read and engaging), so it's in two parts.
Dan's columns look at tech trends at a "100-level" for Luddites, brilliant (of course) but non-technologically inclined bankers and anyone else in the financial world embarrassed to ask basic questions while looking at the "big picture".

How Best to Use the CAA Membership Directory

If you have not done so recently, please update the information in your profile, so that the CAA and other members would be better able to contact you.  Using the Membership Directory is a privilege of dues-paying CAA members.

Here's a refresher on how to best use the directory to find an individual or groups of individuals you would like to contact. (Note that only dues-paying members have access to the directory.).

To get to the directory, log in at www.chasealum.org. On the home page menu, click on Membership and then Member Directory.

When searching by name, or in any of the other search areas, we advise starting by putting in less information in the search field.

For example, if you want to find William Smith, type only Smith in the Search by Name box; if you put in “William Smith” and he is calling himself Bill Smith in his profile, you will not find him.

If you want to find members who live near you, enter the city, state or country (or any combination) under Location.

The Years at Chase search is very valuable. Type in 1996-2005, for instance, and you will find everyone who worked for the bank (including heritage banks) during those years. Narrow your search by typing in a location or job title.

If you have any problem with any of this, contact Ken Jablon at jablonkt@aol.com

As always: If the links do not work for you, you can always access the latest stories by logging on to CAA's web site.

If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to Ken Jablon or call Ken (during normal working hours) at 212/799-9525.

Don't forget to explore the rest of the CAA Web site. (www.chasealum.orgJust click on the home page menu buttons to find the news and newsletter archives, photo albums, membership directory, past In Memoriams and benefit information.
