 Valentine's Day is in a month. If you met your spouse or partner working at one of the banks that are now part of JPMorganChase and want to share your love story, please send it to Andrea at news@chasealum.org, preferably by Monday, February 9, 2026.
► We received an inquiry this past week from the Margaret Warner-Lubin, who's working on a family history and wonders if any of our alumni knew her late father, Michael Max Warner. He joined Chase Manhattan in 1968 after graduating from Howard University. By about 1973/1974, he had been promoted to lead operations in the Caribbean, serving as the Country Manager / Head Banker for Chase in Trinidad & Tobago (covering the Southern Caribbean). She believes he was one of the first Black executives to hold a Country Manager role for the bank in that region. If you have anything to add or personal memories of Michael Warner, please contact Andrea and she'll put you in touch with his daughter.
NEWS & EVENTS (PAST AND FUTURE)
 # IMPORTANT NEW INFO: The CAA Spring Reception will be held at the new JPMorganChase headquarters from 5:30 to 8 pm on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 270 Park Avenue. The event is free, but is only open to our dues-paying members. ► REGISTRATION: We expect to open registration for the reception at 9 am (Eastern) on January 25, 2026.
► BUILDING TOURS: We learned this week that if JPMC is to offer us tours of the building, they will be held during the reception, with groups of 20 or so going on 15-20 minute tours. There is no guarantee this will happen, however.
► HOTEL: We are negotiating a group rate with The Renwick Hotel, a 4-star hotel at 118 East 40th Street. We can only get the group rate if we need 10 or more rooms, so it is imperative that you let us know ASAP whether you want to be included in the group. Contact Andrea at news@chasealum.org.
The Renwick is in walking distance to 270 Park and convenient to Grand Central and its subway lines, as well as to the crosstown bus on 42nd Street and north/south bus routes. While it doesn’t have a shuttle from the airports, there are shuttles between JFK, LGA and EWR to Grand Central, if you don’t want to take a taxi, Uber or car service.
Once we sign an agreement with the hotel, you would book directly with them (by March 25th). To be eligible for the group rate, you would need to book a minimum of two nights between Friday, April 24 and Tuesday, April 28.
Our special rates are for a Standard King room for those nights — PLUS applicable state and local taxes, currently 14.75%, plus a $3.50 occupancy tax per room, per night (all taxes and fees are subject to change). For all five nights, it works out to about $253/night + taxes and fees. If you want two double beds, there is a $75 surcharge per night. There is free Wifi, a fitness center and 24-hour front desk bellman service onsite.
This is a hotel with lots of personality (in the nicest way) and a reasonable rate for midtown Manhattan in late April.
► AUXILLIARY EVENTS: Our current thinking is that we will plan some walking tours in Manhattan, possibly a luncheon on Sunday at Manhatta on the 60th floor of the former 1CMP and maybe a group trip to the New York Botanical Garden, either on Saturday or Sunday. If you think you would participate in any of these events, please let Andrea know ASAP, at news@chasealum.org.
Credit classes, geography-specific groups (e.g. LATAM) or business area groups
(e.g., Treasury) that want to hold lunches or dinners around the reception date can work with us. (Joe Murphy and colleagues are organizing a luncheon for Credit Classes of the 1970s, and Manuel Peña-Morros is putting together a dinner for LATAM alumni. If you haven't received emails about these events and want to participate, please let Andrea know ASAP, at news@chasealum.org.

You must be a dues-paying member of CAA to participate and may bring a plus-one. Please be sure to log in to the website before trying to register so that the store platform recognizes you as a dues-paying member.
The trip, which will take us from Palermo to Catania, will feature a memorable mix of art, great architecture, history, culture, natural wonders, private visits to palazzos, great food and wine, 4- and 5-star hotels and, of course, the comraderie of Chase alumni. By going in October, we'll avoid the crowds and heat: It's truly an ideal time of year to visit Sicily!
Important note: Because our last two outings were plagued by rain, this year we ordered two groups of tickets:
- Section 110 / Rows: 29-30 / Seats 13-23 (22 Tickets): These seats are under an overhang.
- Section 109 / Row 24 / Seats: 1-10 (10 Tickets): These seats are closer to the field and one section closer to home base.
When you purchase your tickets, please indicate under 'special instructions" which section you would prefer. First come, first served. We will try to honor your request, but there is no guarantee that tickets will be available in your preferred section.
You must be a dues-paying member of the Chase Alumni Association to purchase tickets, and may buy up to four tickets. Log in first to the CAA website Because the tickets are subsidized by the CAA, we beg you to use them yourself. Do not purchase them for friends or relatives. Tickets are not refundable unless we can find other alumni who want to buy them.
Please remember: Citi Field does not accept tickets printed on paper. You must be able to use the MLB Ballpark app on a smart phone to access your tickets and enter the stadium.
Our tickets include admission to three special dining areas. (Names to come!)
 # SAVE THE DATE(S):At 1 pm on Sunday, February 8, 2026, we will launch sales for our first CAA theater party, for the Tuesday, June 2, 2026 performance of the new Broadway adaptation of the Oscar-winning film Dog Day Afternoon – based on the story of a robbery of a Chase branch in Brooklyn. The production stars Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, two stars of the Emmy Award-winning series The Bear.
We have reserved 24 seats at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street) in the center Orchestra, Rows O, P and Q. The group rate is $159/per person, a savings of about $50 per ticket.
You will need to be a dues-paying member of the Chase Alumni Association to purchase tickets, and (as of now) will be able to buy up to two tickets. For more information, contact Andrea at news@chasealum.org.
 Tickets are sold out for the March 5, 2026 Carnegie Hall concert by the Academy of St Martin in the Fields (ASMF), featuring Joshua Bell as both leader and violin soloist. The concert will be followed by a reception in Carnegie's Rohatyn Room. Tickets, in the front right Parterre, plus admission to the reception will cost $95. JPMC NEWS
 JPMorgan to build multi-billion pound tower in London's Canary Wharf: Reuters' Iain Withers writes that the decision to build one of Europe's largest towers there is a big win for the Canary Wharf district. Foster + Partners will design the new building, which will be larger than the new JPMC headquarters it designed in NYC. Withers writes that it will be more than double the floorspace of Britain's current tallest building, The Shard, in London. JPMC's own announcement on November 27, 2025 does not indicate the number of floors or height of the proposed tower, as "the plans are subject to a continuing positive business environment in the UK and the receipt of the necessary approvals and agreements at a national and local level." LIFE AFTER CHASE
 Martin Fraenkel may still be working in the financial field, but he is very active in the not-for-profit sphere, especially in his role as Chair of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. And he even got to play violin in a rehearsal with them!
His interview also includes various lessons he learned over the last 18 months (and eight surgeries).

CAA TECH CORNER WITH DAN ALVAREZ
In his 11th feature dedicated to defining emerging trends in technology (in plain English), CAA board member Dan Alvarez explains how AI agents are used, what jobs they might threaten and what positions may be in even greater demand. The article is long (but easy to read and engaging), so it's in two parts.
Dan's columns look at tech trends at a "100-level" for Luddites, brilliant (of course) but non-technologically inclined bankers and anyone else in the financial world embarrassed to ask basic questions while looking at the "big picture".

MILESTONE BIRTHDAYS

# Paul Didier (shown with his children, Mark and Aimee) celebrated his 90th birthday on January 10, 2026. A retired vice president, he started as a messenger for the Bank of the Manhattan Company in 1953 at age 17, before its merger with Chase National Bank to form the Chase Manhattan Bank. Didier ran the Chase Manhattan Payroll and Compensation Department and spent some time in the International Department, travelling on projects in Iran and Saudi Arabia and elsewhere, as well as several years in the Pension Trust Department. The highlight of his 37 years at Chase, though, was working directly for former Chairman David Rockefeller who was his boss, mentor and friend for five years until the Chairman retired. Didier planned all of DR’s domestic travel and accompanied him on all of his trips. As a result, Didier has been to all 50 U.S. states. He stayed in frequent contact with the former Chairman until DR died at age 101 in 2017.
IN MEMORIAM
 Click here to read the updated In Remembrance for 2025. We have added an In Memoriam for Rudolf von Watzdorf, who we just learned died in September 2020. We've also added to the list the names of Michael D. Krauss (former Chief Tech Strategist at Chemical, CMB and JPMC, who died on October 10, 2025), and Howard Monroe, about whom we are awaiting additional information before we post an In Memoriam. If you can help with details about Monroe, please contact Andrea.
 We were recently informed of the death of John P. Cotter, 78, in Delray Beach, FL, on July 28, 2025. He served as VP/ Financial Manager – Western Hemisphere and in the Controllers Department, among other roles over a 30-year career at Manufacturers Hanover Trust, Chemical and Chase. His tenure also included long stints in London and Hong Kong.
 We were just informed of the death of Herbert Cohen, 78, on August 10, 2025. The Glen Rock, NJ resident was a VP/ Financial Manager/Western Hemisphere and the Controllers Department, among other roles over a 33-year career at Chase.

How Best to Use the CAA Membership Directory
 If you have not done so recently, please update the information in your profile, so that the CAA and other members would be better able to contact you. Using the Membership Directory is a privilege of dues-paying CAA members.
Here's a refresher on how to best use the directory to find an individual or groups of individuals you would like to contact. (Note that only dues-paying members have access to the directory.).
To get to the directory, log in at www.chasealum.org. On the home page menu, click on Membership and then Member Directory.
When searching by name, or in any of the other search areas, we advise starting by putting in less information in the search field.
For example, if you want to find William Smith, type only Smith in the Search by Name box; if you put in “William Smith” and he is calling himself Bill Smith in his profile, you will not find him.
If you want to find members who live near you, enter the city, state or country (or any combination) under Location.
The Years at Chase search is very valuable. Type in 1996-2005, for instance, and you will find everyone who worked for the bank (including heritage banks) during those years. Narrow your search by typing in a location or job title.
