NEWS & EVENTS (PAST AND FUTURE)
# According to an exclusive story in The Wall Street Journal, JPMorganChase "pulled out all the stops" to celebrate SpaceX's IPO when JPMC hosted SpaceX's closing-deal party on Friday, June 12, 2026 on the 57th floor of JPMC headquarters at 270 Park Avenue. Though it wasn't one of the two lead banks for the deal – that honor (and money) went to Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley – JPMC still reportedly earned $75 million in underwriting fees from the record-breaking IPO. (We are unable to send a gift link to the article, but you can try your luck with the link above.)

RE JPMC: Recommended Reading:
► Nicholas Megaw in Financial Times writes about how JPMorganChase – now Europe's largest investment bank – is going after the retail market, having once dismissed it as "a fool's game".
It finally felt like pre-pandemic days! More than 300 alumni attended the April 27th CAA reception so generously and graciously hosted by JPMorganChase at its new global headquarters at 270 Park Avenue.
If you have photos you want to share from the event at JPMC, the Global Credit Training Luncheon or the LATAM Luncheon, please send them (with names for the captions) to Andrea at news@chasealum.org.
We were so intent on having everyone enter JPMorganChase's new headquarters via Park Avenue that many of us may have overlooked the remarkable facade on its Madison Avenue side. Read this account in The New York Times of Maya Lin's "A Parallel Nature", a large-scale installation that JPMC commissioned from the famed architect, designer and sculptor for the Madison Avenue entrance. Attenzione!
You must be a dues-paying member of CAA to participate and may bring a plus-one. If you are interested, please contact Andrea.
The trip, which will take us from Palermo to Catania, will feature a memorable mix of art, great architecture, history, culture, natural wonders, private visits to palazzos, great food and wine, 4- and 5-star hotels and, of course, the comraderie of Chase alumni. By going in October, we'll avoid the crowds and heat: It's truly an ideal time of year to visit Sicily!
LIFE AFTER CHASE
Martin Fraenkel may still be working in the financial field, but he is very active in the not-for-profit sphere, especially in his role as Chair of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. And he even got to play violin in a rehearsal with them!
His interview also includes various lessons he learned over the last 18 months (and eight surgeries).
If there's something you're particularly thankful for this Thanksgiving, please let us know.
CAA TECH CORNER WITH DAN ALVAREZ
In his 11th feature dedicated to defining emerging trends in technology (in plain English), CAA board member Dan Alvarez explains how AI agents are used, what jobs they might threaten and what positions may be in even greater demand. The article is long (but easy to read and engaging), so it's in two parts.
Dan's columns look at tech trends at a "100-level" for Luddites, brilliant (of course) but non-technologically inclined bankers and anyone else in the financial world embarrassed to ask basic questions while looking at the "big picture".

# Happy 80th birthday to Lou Morrell, who turns four score years on June 18, 2026. Former chair of the American Birding Association, Morrell is currently board chair of the Theater Breaking Through Barriers (2016-present), the only Off-Broadway theater, and one of the few professional theaters in the country dedicated to advancing actors, writers and directors with disabilities. He also chaired the board of Emerging Artists Theatre for six years (2006-2011) and was on the board of the music ensemble Partita (1992-1995).
Morrell spent more than 35 years in finance and treasury at Chemical and Chase (1970-2006) before retiring in 2006 as a Managing Director. At the firm, he was responsible for the Parent Company function, which included managing parent company and subsidiary capital planning, compliance with regulatory capital requirements and the process governing transactions among affiliated entities. He was also involved in the analysis and negotiating of many of the firm’s acquisitions and divestitures. After leaving the bank, Morrell spent four years on the advisory board of and a consultant for the Regulatory Fundamentals Group (2009-2013), a New York-based bank and finance consultancy focusing on governance, regulatory compliance and supervision.
IN MEMORIAM
Audrey Edna Manke Cameron, who helped break the glass ceiling for women in tech during a long career at Manufacturers Hanover Trust, Chemical Bank, Chase Manhattan and J.P. Morgan, died on April 26, 2026, in Madison, CT. She was 88. How Best to Use the CAA Membership Directory
If you have not done so recently, please update the information in your profile, so that the CAA and other members would be better able to contact you. Using the Membership Directory is a privilege of dues-paying CAA members.
Here's a refresher on how to best use the directory to find an individual or groups of individuals you would like to contact. (Note that only dues-paying members have access to the directory.).
To get to the directory, log in at www.chasealum.org. On the home page menu, click on Membership and then Member Directory.
When searching by name, or in any of the other search areas, we advise starting by putting in less information in the search field.
For example, if you want to find William Smith, type only Smith in the Search by Name box; if you put in “William Smith” and he is calling himself Bill Smith in his profile, you will not find him.
If you want to find members who live near you, enter the city, state or country (or any combination) under Location.
The Years at Chase search is very valuable. Type in 1996-2005, for instance, and you will find everyone who worked for the bank (including heritage banks) during those years. Narrow your search by typing in a location or job title.
If you have any problem with any of this, contact Ken Jablon at jablonkt@aol.com.
As always: If the links do not work for you, you can always access the latest stories by logging on to CAA's web site.
If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to Ken Jablon or call Ken (during normal working hours) at 212/799-9525.
Don't forget to explore the rest of the CAA Web site. (www.chasealum.org) Just click on the home page menu buttons to find the news and newsletter archives, photo albums, membership directory, past In Memoriams and benefit information.
